I got my first tattoo a couple of months ago. To be honest I'm surprised I actually went through with it! I love tattoos & have always wanted one. I have no idea what came over me but I decided I was going to get it! It didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would, although when he got to the top (he started at the bottom) it was very sensitive.
I would like to get something added on.. maybe a book underneath breath.
Do you like tattoos? Do you have any? Do you want any? If you have any do you regret them?
I wanted something that I would never regret. I knew I would never hate reading so its a sure bet!
My husband isn't too fond of tattoos especially on women, so I was nervous to show him. He didn't sound to excited when I was telling him what I wanted, but I did it anyways. :)
He ended up loving it!! Although I told him a week or so ago that I wanted another one.. and he said no more please. If I ever decide to get another one.. or something added on to the one I have I will definitely consider his opinion.
I love my tattoo so much! Everyone that I know said the same thing when I showed them. I love that! Its so you! Then I had a few people who had to reread it a couple times because they didn't "get" it. Which blew my mind! What don't you get? So basically I just tell them.. I really really like reading.

Ink to paper is thoughtful
Ink to flesh, hard-core.
If Shakespeare were a tattooist
We'd appreciate body art more.

[A] genuine tattoo.... tells a story. I like stories and tattoos, no matter how well done, and if they don't tell a story that involves you emotionally, then they're just there for decoration, then they're not a valid tattoo. There has to be some emotional appeal or they're not, to my way of thinking, a real tattoo. It tells people what you are and what you believe in, so there's no mistakes. ~Leo, tattooist, 1993, quoted in Margo DeMello, Bodies of Inscription, 2000
